The New International University

Meet our Team & Faculty

At The New International University, we work with leading Christian thinkers and practitioners around the world.

The Team

Dr. Peter van Breda

tniu president & Professor of theology and church administration

The first forty years of Peter’s life were spent in South Africa, where he trained and worked as an Accountant and later as the owner and CEO of an engineering company. In 1978 in cooperation with the founding pastor and group of 12 people he and his wife, Gabriella, pioneered a church which today is one of the largest churches in South Africa.

In 1984 they pioneered a second church. They also founded one of the first multi-racial Christian schools in 1986. In addition to the church responsibilities, in 1989 he was appointed as Africa Director for World Missionary Assistance. In 1993 Peter was appointed the Executive Director of the organization. He also served on the board of the Canadian organization. As Executive Director he was responsible for setting up and teaching leadership seminars in many developing nations and has traveled to numerous countries teaching.

In 1996 Peter and Gabriella established a 501(3c) non-profit humanitarian aid and leadership development organization, “World Impact Network”, which currently works locally and in developing nations. In 2017 he and Gabriella started The New International University which offers six degrees. Peter earned a joint Doctor of Ministry Degree from Bakke Graduate University and Asia Graduate Theological Seminary. He served on the Academic Affairs Committee of the University and was the faculty member overseeing the China program. Peter also served as adjunct faculty for The Kings College and Seminary and established a graduate level seminary program for the Chinese Christian leadership.

Peter and Gabriella have served as the Senior Pastors of Bellevue Foursquare Church since 1996. He is an ordained minister of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel and has served on theSeattle District Council as well as being the Licensing Coordinator for the SeattleDistrict. The van Bredas have three children, six grandsons and one granddaughter who all serve the Lord and attend the church in Bellevue.

Rev. Dr. Keith Warrington

Academic Dean & Professor of theology

Dr Keith Warrington [B.A., M.Phil., Ph.D.] (keith@wordandspiritonline.com) was, for over 30 years, a lecturer in NT at Regents Theological College, (keith.warrington@regents-tc.ac.uk), England, during which time, he was also the Director of Doctoral Studies, Vice-Principal, and Principal, during which time also, he wrote ten books and many articles. In 2013, with his wife, Judy (judy@wordandspiritonline.com), they launched Word and Spirit, which is dedicated to helping Christians engage with the Bible in ways that are enjoyable and transformative, encouraging them to explore the Bible and encounter God as they do.

As a result, he regularly preaches/teaches in churches, conferences and Colleges, in and outside of the UK, and is particularly focussed on setting up and supporting Word and Spirit training programmes and Colleges for leaders and other Christians, in Europe and especially the Majority World, whereby the attendees take either individual courses, or study with others, for a Certificate/Diploma/Masters in Bible and Ministry, engaging in courses that are focussed on
the Bible and application; the courses consist of streamed (or dvd-based) teaching and associated
booklets (that provide more opportunity to explore the respective topics). Please see
